PAINTED BOARD STUDIO, 32 E. Quincy St, Riverside, IL 60546
Paintings and Custom Painted Furniture
For the past 30 years I've largely
made my living as an actor in commercials, television, film and on stage and have lived and worked in Minneapolis, New York,
Los Angeles and currently, Chicago. In 1985, while living in New York and playing the role of Detective Chris Egan on
the soap opera, The Edge of Night, my husband gave me paints and canvas as a gift and I’ve been painting ever since.
My canvas works, painted in bold oil colors, tell stories of characters
with large imaginations living just on the edge of life in slightly humorous, if not bizarre, ways. To see works
that are available for sale click here.
My furniture painting hobby grew from the urge to recycle and I enjoy the challenge of
finding designs suitable to the arcitecture of the piece. So often we throw out old furniture, not neccessarily
because it isn’t functional or sturdy, but because it has become marred on the surface and not valuable enough
to restore. Paint is the perfect solution. From a distressed surface to a multi-layered painterly design, the choices can
be personal and endless. If you have a piece you'd like to have painted whether with a full, decorative design or a basic
coat of paint, I can work within your budget. Call or email me with a general description of the piece and I will happily
give you a quote.
Currently, I work out of a small studio which
is open by appointment (or whenever I'm there).
